Dark vs Light

There have been some incredible new sites and blogs that have come up over the last few months that I'd like to share with you.

The first one I'd like to mention is by an author I have mentioned here before, Leah Lemieux. She wrote the book, Rekindling the Waters The Truth about Swimming with Dolphins.  You can find her at her website/blog:  Rekindling the Waters.

Leah recently spent time in Taiji documenting and witnessing the heartbreaking slaughter of many dolphins.  She has also created a couple of videos that I'd like to encourage you to help spread around and share.

Elora West, and her father Scott, have also been bearing witness in Taiji since the start of this year's dolphin slaughter season.  Please check out Elora's blog at:  A Teenage Activist

If you are on Facebook, she also updates regularly there.  You can find her FB link on her site.  Please seriously consider subscribing to her very important blog and also help spread the word.  Elora and her family have been working with Sea Shepherd and have done a lot to raise even more awareness about the murders of our cetacean friends in Japan.

Another outstanding site is Hope 4 Dolphins.  I highly recommend it.

As you well know, we are upon another whaling season in the Southern Ocean and Sea Shepherd is geared up and ready to go.  They've been in the media a great deal lately and regular updates are posted on their site.  Be sure to visit Sea Shepherd's site regularly to keep updated!

I've heard all sorts of theories by now as to why countries like Japan, Norway, Denmark, etal feel the continuing unnecessary need to slaughter whales and dolphins.  Culture, tradition, pride, money, greed, apathy, etc.

I submit (and this isn't a unique theory or one I can claim as my own) that our cetacean friends are spiritual beings from another world.  Some call them the sea's version of "light workers."  Some call them extraterrestrials from another dimension or alternate universe sent here to teach us about love, joy, and living in harmony with nature and each other.

Remember what the site Peace in the Water has said?  "It only takes a fraction of 1% of a population to tangibly shift the energy of a whole area ..."

And another great quote: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.  Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." ~ MLK Jr. ~

The dark forces on this planet are powerful ones and have been largely running the show for more years than many of us have been alive.  And I don't know if you have noticed, but there appears to be a conscious shifting within humanity recently that is continuing to build.  And the more our energies are focused on love, light, and peace, the more difficult it is for the dark to remain in control.

And our cetacean friends are all about the light.  All about the love.  And all about the harmony.  They feed energies into our planet and into our lives that we need, whether we realize it or not.  So by having them killed and justifying it due to tradition, pride, or money, the dark think they are winning.  But have you noticed the voices among humanity getting louder?  Have you noticed more people are joining the fight in defense of our whale and dolphin friends? 



This is just one stage amongst thousands around the world where there is a battle between good and evil, love and hate, and dark vs light.  

Make no mistake, our cetacean friends know they have been sacrificing themselves for a very long time to get to this point where humanity is finally waking up.  They've been there for us.  We need to be there for them.  Let's not let their deaths and slavery be in vain.

BP = Bumbling Poopheads

Various news reports offer up various versions of what is happening in the Gulf of Mexico.

I'm amazed that there would be a media blackout considering BP does not own the Gulf of Mexico.  On one hand, I can understand doing so out of safety concerns.  On the other hand, silence doesn't ease concerns or fears.  It only encourages speculation and conspiracy theories.

That said, take the links I will be sharing here with a grain of salt.

It appears that shortly after the oil rig explosion, Britain offered to help with the clean up and the U.S. government declined.     Why?  This mess is only growing worse and is now on the precipice of being a global disaster versus a local one.  Politics and money should be set aside in the interests of ensuring this is nipped in the bud as quickly, as efficiently, and as safely as possible.  Right?  I must be missing something.  If an asteroid was heading straight for earth all the nations in the world would be banding together to brainstorm on how to stop it and then get busy.  Right?

Well this oil disaster in the Gulf has the potential to quickly reach the point of leaving no one on the planet immune.  Whether the oil ends up in the gulf stream and reaches our neighbors across the Atlantic, or creates oily rain across the eastern half of the USA causing pollution and harm to crops and our food supply, or a hurricane hitting the gulf and lifting up and spreading that lovely stuff even further inland.

I must be naive or missing something somewhere.

As if things couldn't get any worse, at first BP denied there were cracks in the sea bed (so shocking, them denying yet something else) but now they are admitting it:   Oil Spills from the Sea Bed

Folks in the Florida Keys aren't waiting for BP to get their crap together.  They are taking preventive action and attempting to prepare for the possibility of the oil spill reaching them:  Florida key Residents Plan Their Own Oil Spill Cleanup

But there's a problem with their plans for grass-roots activism: BP (and the Deepwater Horizon's Unified Command, which BP runs with the Coast Guard and other agencies) has so far insisted on complete control of the cleanup operations. A BP spokesman told TIME that the only appropriate way for interested boat captains to become involved would be to register with the Unified Command's Vessels of Opportunity program. Never mind that according to BP's numbers, only a third of the 7,200 boats "under contract" through the program are in active service. Robey says captains in the Keys haven't even been able to register. "It's a joke, a total joke," he says. "Our people have called them for over a month. They don't return phone calls."

I think I'm being way too kind calling these people bumbling poopheads.

I have been debating for awhile now about whether or not to continue my blog here.  There are a lot of resources out there that cover many of the same subjects I do so I have started to wonder if I am just being redundant and not really all that unique with what I do here.

In addition, I'm not very tech savvy, so it is difficult for me to really tell if my blog is actually reaching out to many people, or if people are just too busy, or if what I do really matters all that much.

I'm not writing this to garner attention ... I'm just expressing some thoughts and feelings out loud, so to speak.   I think we all wonder, from time to time, if anything we do is making a difference somewhere out there in the universe.  So I guess I'm having sort of an existential crisis at the moment ;-)

Season's Greetings from the Sea

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season :-)

No rest for the weary on Sea Shepherd, despite the holiday. Both the SS and the Japan Whalers continue to clash on the bottom of the earth. There continues to be no peace or goodwill between them and obviously there will not be a holiday truce, which continues to not bode well for our mammal friends.

A few days ago, Sea Shepherd made a stop off the Adelie Coast in Commonwealth Bay. The French government extended their support to the Sea Shepherd organization. Ironically, the Japan fleet that was chasing the Sea Shepherd, was not welcomed and apparently did not care. The Captain of the Shonan Maru No. 2 replied by saying, “Japan does not recognize the Australian Antarctic Territorial claim.” Such is the ego of these folks.

Captain Watson made an interesting statement here:

Captain Watson is also concerned that the situation in the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary does not bode well for the recent conference on climate change in Copenhagen, asking, “If the signatory nations of the Antarctic Treaty and the International Whaling Commission cannot stop the illegal killing of endangered whales in an established whale sanctuary in violation of the Treaty and the IWC regulations, how are they ever going to get real on the bigger issue of climate change?”

A couple days ago, the Sea Shepherders and Japanese Whalers had quite the clash that went on for about three hours.  As usual, the complaint from the whalers side was the use of butyric acid, the use of lasers, and buoys with the intention of disabling the propellers.  The complaints from Sea Shepherds had mostly to do with the whalers use of LRAD in their attempt to disorient their helicopter pilot as well as using full blast water cannons on the helicopter while it was sitting on the Sea Shepherd.

In addition, despite the Australian government's claims to be opposed to the whaling and their threats of legal action, they allowed the Shonan Maru 2 to dock and refuel in their port.

You know what they say about politicians?  Nothing ever changes in government.  The people may change, but the BS remains the same.

Australian government continues to say one thing, but by their inaction, prove yet again that their words are just empty ones.  Is it any wonder then that Japan continues to NOT take them seriously?  Govt Threatens Legal Action

I Suck

Yup, I suck. I can't put it any more eloquently than that.

I could give a slew of reasons for why I have not been back here in months, but I'm not going to. Let's just say that I've had some personal challenges and some dark periods and have simply needed time away to try to deal with them.

I'd love to say the worst is over, but that's the thing about challenges .. they continue to challenge you LOL. So I'm trying to find a balance somewhere so that I can get back to doing what I love - and that is writing.

You know the saying: "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle."

It's been a battle, and I'd like to suggest that when any of us are fighting a great battle, that we also be kind to ourselves. That, in itself, can be a challenge too. I am often my own worst critic. Sometimes justified and sometimes not.

Hopefully though, despite my absence, those of you who care about the issues surrounding our marine mammal friends and the state of politics both domestically and globally, have been keeping yourselves aware and informed. That's also a challenge given how much information is out there and trying to determine what is true and what is hype.

One thing I think has been a lot of hype is the issue of global warming. I'm one of those that originally jumped on the bandwagon that we've got to save our earth, listen to Al Gore, and do this, that, or the other or we're gonna fry. LOL

I've been spending a lot of time reading, researching, and determining my own intuition on what I believe to be real or to be simply disinfo perpetuated by the mainstream media in the interest of creating further hype and drama for ratings or whatever.

Al Gore can kiss my ass. He's a hypocrite like the rest of 'em. 'Nuf said.

Is global warming real? I think what we're experiencing is simply part of the natural cycle of things; caused by solar activity NOT carbon emissions. And speaking of carbon emissions, you gotta love how the politicians the world over are trying to tax us even more with the Cap and Trade. But I'll refrain from getting on my soapbox about that one. I only ask that you do your research and don't rely on the mainstream media nor the politicians for the facts.

Then there's the so-called Obamacare. Do I really need to get into that one? It's messed up. Simple as that. The government has absolutely NO PLACE in our personal health care choices. Unfortunately there are people out there who simply can not think for themselves so they're happy to have the government do it for them. In that case, you get exactly what you deserve. "We're from the government and we're here to help you." Uh huh.

Do I sound bitter? I don't mean to. I'm actually just frustrated with the direction things are going. Obama promised "Change we can believe in." So far, he has, in my view, been just an extension of Bush in his continuation of many of G.W. Bush's dictatorial policies. Do I need to go there too? I think not. Apparently he meant change HE can believe in. But then, he is not in control so it's a moot point anyway.

Now Ron Paul .. that's who I voted for to be our President. He's currently making the cronies from the Federal Reserve nervous and rightfully so. Hopefully he succeeds.

So what have the good folks from Sea Shepherd been up to? Oh they've been busy busy busy. I could recap some of the great things that have been going on in the last six months since I last posted, but no need. You have their link so go read up :-)

I will highlight a couple of things.

Earthrace joins Sea Shepherd in the fight against the Japan whale hunt.

Could this be the last season for the whale hunts? Is the end of Japanese whaling in sight?

For now, the culling continues. Japan has embarked on it's annual hunt and the Sea Shepherd crew is also out there in pursuit currently.
